Patricia Road


Patricia Road and Kathryn Crescent (which it surrounds), are both part of a subdivision laid out by the well-known Stratford builder and developer, Guenther Mohrmann.Patricia Road was named for Patricia Susan Mohrmann, born in 1966. Kathryn Crescent was named for her sister, Mary Kathryn Mohrmann, born in 1963.


Laid out in 1967, the year after Patricia was born, Patricia Road encompasses an area which was formerly part of a farm. Several rows of fine old pine trees, which at one time surrounded the farm buildings (now gone), still survive to enhance this modern residential sub- division,


Guenther Mohrmann was a conservationist and tried to preserve as many of these trees as possible. Born in Germany, Mr. Mohrmann was a graduate of the Wood School of Technology in Rosenheim, Germany.


Coming to Stratford in 1952, he became president of Guenther Mohrmann Construction Limited and was a leading contractor and house builder here for almost 30 years. Mr. Mohrmann was one of the contractors who worked on the restoration of the City Hall and he was very pleased that both the City Hall and the Gordon Block were preserved and restored.
